Christmas Tree Ornaments from Polymer Clay

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Last season I was determined to create my own christmas tree ornaments made of polymer clay so I looked for suitable projects in our local hobbies store. I was quickly overwhelmed with the many items and different colors of clay so maybe the best place to start would have been a book or a magazine that would outline the details of such a project.

There were many publications on the subject but none looked as if they were for beginners. I hate admitting that I am a beginner with any craft but the clay polymer Christmas ornament project had me running in circles.

I was thinking that the whole process was far too involved and intimidating for me and maybe I should just give up before investing any more time and stick to hallmark christmas ornaments. I didn’t want to invest a lot of money, either. Read the full article to find out what happened.

Thanksgiving Gift Basket Centerpiece are a Spectacularly Display

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

When it comes time to celebrate Thanksgiving, most families will gather around a table to eat a great big meal together. For the most part, that meal took many hours of planning, and probably even more hours for cooking. Thanksgiving dinner is the main reason people get together, and it results afterwards with many snoring on the couch. After you have invited your close family members for a feast, it would be wonderful to have a nice Thanksgiving Gift Basket Centerpiece on the dining table.

A Thanksgiving basket or perhaps an arrangement of flowers is the first thing that comes to mind as a Thanksgiving centerpiece. As long as you take the season or the event into consideration, they work for almost any type of table. You should go with the traditional fall colors, if you are working on a centerpiece that is for the fall or for Thanksgiving. These colors are the color of fall leaves. Think of browns, yellows, oranges, and red. You will find that when combined, these give you the atmosphere of Thanksgiving and late autumn that you would expect.

You can do other things for your Thanksgiving basket centerpiece. You may have seen a gift basket that many have filled with fruit and nuts and then placed in the middle of the table. You can have them all within the basket or you can make them look more impressive by having them spill out of the basket. Arrange them in a manner that suggests an overflow of goodies. If you prefer, you can use several different types of miniature squash instead of the Thanksgiving basket.

Why Choose Ceramic Kitchen Tiles?

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

There’s a very good reason why Ceramic Kitchen Tiles are still around after so many other home fashions in furniture and décor and come and gone. They work! It’s as simple as that really. They’re easy to lay, easy to clean, and easy to change when the time warrants it. Even though the ceramic kitchen tiles are still with us generation after generation, the main reason for its success is because the shapes, styles, and textures of these home improvement products can adapt with the times. In other words, ceramic tiles add a little beauty to your home. Often, ceramic tiles are shopped for as gifts too and one use is that the kids go into the parents home while they’re away on holiday and transform their kitchen with new tiles. This is a very popular and lovely treat for parents as it not only provides them with a smashing present from their children, but it shows how much they care and appreciated the folks. Additionally, this is one gift of love that cannot be lost or forgotten as is will be seen every single day for as long as they remain the tile of choice in Mum’s kitchen.
