Popular Dessert Recipes

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

One of the most popular desserts in the UK is a pancake. Americans more often have them for breakfast and there are some tasty recipes from America, using maple syrup, chocolate, blueberries, strawberries or banana. Fruit plays an important part in many delicious dessert recipes, as in fruit pies and fruit salad. A warm apple, blackcurrant or cherry pie with cream or custard is perfect for supper on a winter’s night. A fruit salad can contain any favorite fruit and can be put into a flan case, served with double cream.

Traditional rice pudding is made even tastier by sprinkling some grated nutmeg on top. For a hot summer’s day, you can’t beat ice cream or chocolate mousse. Baked Alaska is a well-known and delicious dessert recipe, made with cake and ice cream and topped with meringue.

Slow Cooker Recipes Save Time

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Last week my wife and I had a long talk about my cooking skills. It’s not that I’m a bad cook; it is that I do not have the patience or the time to cook a proper meal every night of the week. She and I both work. She hates to cook and is lousy at it while I like to cook, but I don’t have the time to do it properly. She and I are both tired of buying what we call convenience foods. .We know that kind of food isn’t good for us or the kids, plus it’s really expensive. She asked me if I knew of any great slow cooker recipes that we might like to try. Sadly, I was fresh out of ideas after I suggested beef stew. I know there are a lot of great recipes out there; I just don’t know what they are or how to find them.

Instructions For Making Succulent Cream Puffs

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Cream puffs are made from what is regularly referred to as choux pastry. In contradistinction to other types of butter-based pastry such as puff pastry, there’s no rolling or chilling involved. Cream puffs are a classic dish that every home baker should artfully master. They are pleasant with a cappuccino, delightful with a glass of bubbly, and complete crowd-pleasers. Cream puffs are made from the French dough, which means “dough shaped like little cabbages”. They are crispy and not rich, filled with a creamy filling, and covered with a charming sauce.

Cream Puffs are not as risky to make as one might think. The puff pastry can be made ahead of time and you can now use pre-prepared custard or pudding for the filling. Cream puffs are surprisingly a pushover to make if you have access to some cream puff recipes. So start spending some time in the kitchen and bake some full-flavoured cream puffs for your family and friends to be fond of today.

Pork is now naturally low in fat (fully trimmed cuts only contain 4 per cent fat), so it’s very good for weight watchers and people looking after their heart. Pork is known to be a strong source of protein. Protein is prime in maintaining body components, tissue repair and is an integral part of red blood cells, hemoglobin, hormones and antibodies. Become A Chef | Gobble-Gobble: Secrets To Cooking Turkeys

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Cooking turkeys can be an intimidating task. The first reason for this is the pressure that is upon the turkey cooker. The “cooking turkeys occasion”  is likely going to be a special one, such as the holidays of Christmas or Thanksgiving, so the pressure of cooking turkeys perfectly is heaped on the cook at an absurd rate. If something goes wrong with the turkey, something is likely going to go wrong with the day as a whole. The mentality for many food-centered holidays is that if the food is off, then the entire day suffers and the holiday is somehow less significant.
